Entertrainment Model Expo
I have reserved 3 tables at the Entertrainment Model expo March 3-4 and will be joined by Jim from Michigan and hopefully some more of you guys. I also talked to both the Cincinnati and Dayton IPMS chapters and most likely they will attend as well. Jim will get his own table as well. So if you want to attend and will bring more than 3-5 models, PM me and let me know; I will request additional tables.
In addition, I attended a week long model building weekend in Dayton and will make contact with the hotel event organizer for possible future dates for our Dayton paper get together this Spring. Here is are the models I worked on this weekend. A mix of plastic and paper.     Isaac

Got an initial proposal from hotel
Folks
I made contact with the Hope hotel and they will provide a conference room ( the same I spent the weekend at the building retreat ) for approx $125 US per day. So if we have our 3 day mini Dayton paper convention, the cost will be around $450 to $500. The room can handle 15-20 tables. We can arrange it anyway we want. The larger conference room can handle hundreds, but I doubt we can gather that many participants. I would like to shoot for late April or early May this year. So here it is: If you can make it, let me know. I need positive responses ( not definite maybe or I will think abut it or if I win the lottery....) 1-Can you arrive Friday? This way we can have a 3 day event. 2-Will you stay thru Sunday? . 3-Will you plan to stay at the Hope hotel? 4-How many models can you bring? 5-Do you need anything special for your table? A- We can plan time off to go to the Air Force museum ( 10-15 minutes away ). The Wright Brothers museum is about 25 minutes away from the hotel. B- We can have a dinner banquet on Saturday. C- If you want to consider presentations, awards etc.. let me know as I am not big into these, but lets discuss. D- We can make it similar to the yearly national paper convention held outside of DC, or have our own format. If we get 10 people participating, that comes to $50 per person. If we get more than that will be a bonus. I do not want to split the cost based on number of tables, but rather by the number of persons actively participating. So bring as many models as you can! This is the first step in this mini paper convention here in Dayton, so lets have positive inputs. I need to here from you within a week or two at the most. Once I have positive numbers, we can finalize it all and I can inform the community around of our paper meet so people can drop by. Lets do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Isaac

The dates are good for me.
We would stay at my dad's place in Xenia. Nothing truely special needed for me. There would be myself and my girlfriend. I would like to be able to take the Restoration tour at the USAF Museum. As for models.. One for sure maybe as many as 5.

Dates options- mini paper convention
The hotel has the following options for us :
April 20-22 April 27-29 Or May 18-20 The cost to rent the meeting rooms is the same Hotel rooms for those needing, will be around $75 plus taxes per night . That will be finalized once we agree on dates and dinner banquet. From those planning to participate, let me know of a preference Remember, I need positive responses ! Thanks Isaac
