As of today, the following Paper modelers have stated that they will participate:

Any last moment drop ins will be welcome.

also, for the out of town folks, please make the hotel reservations ( the room rate is $99 per night ).

lastly, John wagenseil and I will meet at the Hope hotel next Thursday evening to review the plans and the conference room set up.

Thanks to Dale (DJStatoArt) for spreading the word further with his artwork on FB.

Getting close.

Question Room layout options

Attached are just 3 options I came up with for the table layout at the room.

The room measures 59 ft long by 25 ft deep. There are two doors on either end and a couple of columns in the room.

I came up with 3 options A,B, C and will meet with John Wagenseil tomorrow to discuss further. You are welcome to let me know your opinion as to which option you think will serve the venue best, or propose your own for our consideration.

Looks like we can get 13 tables measuring 30" x 8 ft and one round table at 72" for the Make and Take

we can reduce the table count if needed.
So far there are 10 of us displaying models.

B is the best for flowing traffic though the room, somewhat similar to the big room set up in Sterling, probably the easiest to set up.

I also like C, but I have one suggestion, if you want to have people mingle, and spend time looking at the models and engaging with the people behind the table, I would switch one of the horse shoes to the other side of the room, imagine two boots in a box, and how they lay in the box(best analogy I can come up with)

Cool Semi final room layout

Today, John Wagenseil and I went to the Hope hotel to review the room layout and discuss details.

Here is what we thought is a good idea for the room.
Dayton Paper Con 2018 May 11 to 13th-room-layout-final.jpg
  • There are 9 of us displaying models. We will have 11 long tables ( 8ft x 30 in ) arranged for the displays.
  • There will be two long tables for the Make and Take / model builders in the middle of the room. We may not need as many chairs as shown.
  • There will be free uninterrupted flow in the room on both sides. The Make and Take tables are in the center to invite folks to participate.
  • I will need to know from each of the participants what type of models you planning to bring so we have diversity of models.

We will meet at the hotel lobby at 5 PM the Friday before to set up and get to know each other.

Two weeks to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Going great, Isaac! I will bring a variety....about 8 planes, a tank, cathedral, a ship, several buildings, and a couple of "in progress" items. And maybe a couple of other things from the "isle of mis-fit toys", which is the top of a cabinet in my work room!

I will be bringing the birdmobile kestle and the Canon peregrine falcon, along with some Ironsides era ships, a few rockets, and civilian airplanes and airliners. And a green stripe twist and glue bottle.

That is fantastic

and the glue too. I need it. I purchased 5 Aleene glue bottles for our meeting. I'll trade one for the UHU.

Many thanks
