1:1 scale Piedmont DC-3 build

I’ve just started a new project. It’s a one to one scale DC-3. I just joined up with a great group of individuals that are restoration a ex Piedmont DC-3. It’s the Potomac Pacemaker.
The plane is getting restored to a non flying status, but totally complete as it was back in its heyday. I’ll be there the first and third Saturday of each month working on this beauty.
It’s part of the North Carolina Trenasportation Museum.
I hope to post photos from time to time of the progress.
If your in the Spencer, North Carolina area, stop by the museum and check it out. Lots of trains for the train enthusiast as well.

Looks like a great spot to visit. That’s a big project, but surely worth the effort.

Great stuff.
How many aluminum cans is it going to take to build it?

Well, the fact that the majority of the big pieces are there it shouldn't take too many cans to fix what’s missing.

The good part is that there is a abundance of dc-3 / c-47 parts left in the world, so we can bring this one back to to her former glory without too much trouble.

Now what I need is someone to recolor the Alan Rose dc-3 in Piedmont Airlines markings. I wish I knew how to do that, but I don’t.
