Dayton Airshow USAF & Patton Museums

I'm taking my two sons to the Dayton Airshow this coming weekend (18-19 Jul). I also am going to take them to the Air Force Museum and the Patton Museum of Cavalry and Armor. If you have any specific pic requests, get them in and I'll see what I can do.

I'll be bringing some serious equipment so I can get some nice shots of just about anything you like. Of course, I do not have interior access like I used to, but I can still get some good close-ups with the equipment that I have.

Hey Chuck!

Email some info to me about the airshow if you can, or tell me how to find it.

I may be able to join you next weekend at the museum!

Ken

If you go to the Fort Knox, see if they give you access to the restoration garage, they have a good collection of working WW II tanks (Tigers, Panthers, Stugs, Sherman, Stuart and many more.) When I was stationed there in 74 I used to hang out with some of the guys who worked on the armor restoration shop. It is amazing what they can do with a bucket of rust.

I am in southern Ontario
and I took my Daughter to the Dayton Air Force Museum about 2 years ago.
(She has a love for certain Fighters)
We missed the AirShow by one week early!!

What a fabulous place and fabulous exhibits!!!
So much to see and do...and all for free!

The Red Flag Imax film was expecially entertaining and worth the extra money!!

I took about a hundred photos with a lower quality Digital Camera
(many pics are too dark)
so I will be looking forward to any pics you share!!!

A-10s are always an interest.

I'm waiting to have enough money to take Niklas down there now that he's 3 and would enjoy it. I'm still not sure about air shows, for all the coolness they still spook me. Might be that I've had recurring dreams on and off in my life about a jumbo jet falling out of the sky on my head.

Sounds like a wonderful opportunity, Major D. Haven't had the pleasure of visiting Dayton and the Air Force Museum for decades and would sure like to return.

When you get the trip report and photos ready, request you post the thread in the "Museums, Airshows, etc., section."

Don

I want pictures of anything and everything!!!! It's been my dream for a number of years now to go there. Consider me extremely jealous. :D

Specifically, a shot of Bockscar would be super!
