Skansen Uzbrojenia Wojska Polskiego, Jelenia Góra, Poland, 1st August, 2018

Today I visited another military place. Located in Jelenia Góra small museum with some radiolocation equipment, trucks, cannons, Mi-2 helicopter, T-34-85 tank, BTR-152 and few other things. Of course I'll show you the pictures(37 in total).

White wall tyres were only applied on vehicles used in military parades. It was a common practice in Warsaw Pact countries.

Sounds a bit like what we referred to as 'Cold War Cam' in the '60s. All our aircraft in Germany were painted white. The message being ... "Hey Ivan ... we're here, we ain't scared of yer, an' we ain't hiding!" Us on the ground weren't too convinced of this logic though, and were quite pleased when the disruptive patterns and hardened shelters returned in the 70's.

I don't think the pilots cared much either way, but I guess if you're training to fly an atomic bomb mission on Moscow, without enough fuel to get home again, you gotta be pretty convinced there just ain't gonna be a war.
