Beautiful photos. The Bleriot (?) engine close up is incredible.
Thanks! Don |

Indeed its the Bleriot Don, on loan from Old Warden's Shuttleworth Collection. Shooting away at the 'plane, several stewards were asking if anyone wanted close ups of the engine, and we were allowed, one at a time to go so close they warned us NOT to touch or poke the engine!
My highlight of the day... Meeting Sgt. Don Malarkey, Brad Freeman, Ed Tippen and another, whose handwriting is so shakey its hard to read. |

What a wonderful day that must have been! And those spectacular photos are a great way to remember it.

There's a Bleriot flying at Rhinebeck, N.Y., billed as the oldest flying plane in America. I do not know if the engine is the same but it sure does look familiar.

The shots with the P-51 "Big Beautiful Doll" make me smile. It is based about an hour from me in Iowa! That's quite the trek for a show. :D
