50th Dorset Steam Show and 100th Anniversary of end of WW1

One of the guys on the Spotlight Models board (plastic cars) knowing my weakness posted this for me. I wanted to go to that show so bad.

I would have loved to have been there as well.

It is the 100th Anniversary of Armistice Day this year, so there is an extra effort in the UK in regards all things WW1.

My wife and I have booked to go over then for the Armistice Day parade on the 11th of November (we have attended some previously).

Thanks, Wayne!

This is quite a show. Thirty minutes of clanking, chuffing, hissing, and rattling. It looks like every piece of rolling stock at Bovington participated.

At least most of their WW1 equipment, didn't see a Tiger lurking in the background.

True. I should have specified every piece of 1918 and earlier rolling stock.

Incidentally, just came back from seeing Journey's End, which was shown tonight as part of the USAWC Strategic Arts Film Program. No steam or armor (although a few shots of wheeled vehicles), but a realistic and harrowing film based on the 1928 play).
