Thumbs up Warsaw Poland 2019 contest-paper models

I came across this comprehensive set of almost 700 photos regarding the 2019 Polish model contest in Warsaw:

Babaryba 2019 - modele kartonowe ( QWKAK / IPMS Warszawa )

It is on Facebook though,
https://www.facebook.com/piotr.karto...7923181&type=3

Lots of models and good photos by this person Piotr. Everything paper

Of immense interest ar the super large scale aircraft. PZL 23 Karas, PZL 11 and a biplane ( Avia ????? ; not sure ).

Eye candy

facebook....if you are not a facebook user....

not to worry though...I took a quick look through.
No Fiddlers Green models.
Nothing by Ken West or Aaron Murphy or Nobi.
Nothing I recognize from ecardmodels.
Not a single kit by a North American designer.

Just the same European kits seen dozens of times.
And way too much paint and putty.
I appreciate the skilled building and prolific weathering,
but I'd love to see more models that I recognize as "paper".
And less models by Halinski, and Maly, and GPM....

I know its Warsaw Poland...but they do have the Internet there, don't they?

my last sentence herky....
"I know its Warsaw Poland...but they do have the Internet there, don't they?"

Obviously there is more interest paid to pre-printed kits, and the majority of printed kits come out of Poland
(which is also odd given that most of these builders prefer to primer, putty, and paint over all the printed elements!?)

I'm sorry...no disrespect to the fine modellers...but they're all snobs.
You constantly see the same methods, the same kits, and the same disregard for anything that is not Polish.

At the IPMC, I saw kits from every part of the world, and Polish kits got the same respect and attention as any other.

As far as build method, I'll admit, I prefer to see the "paper" model...
I'm not a fan of the puttied and painted model in this arena.
I can see those at an IPMS show.
In fact, thats where they should be, because they're not paper kits any more.

I enjoy seeing how well the paper kit was put together while still being able to see that it is a paper kit.

It would be nice to see more digital kits...and some North American designer's kits....on those tables!!!

And I have mentioned that I will not reshare items from Facebook or from the forum to the forum or to Facebook.

There are a lot more members here on the forum who are not members of Facebook and probably never will be, than members on Facebook who are members of the forum's group page on Facebook

So because they dont buy your models and build their pre-printed kits while supporting their own country's hobby and manufacturers they're snobs? Dont think so... Print-out kits are considered piracy there, and are not well seen at shows like that. Its only because you sell models doesnt mean all people around the world will or want to buy them and build them as simple as they are. It takes skill Dave, and years of practice to build them like those in these pics you consider being snobish... .

Its worth mentioning, not all the models at this show are card. it's half of card, half of good old plastic Dave...

regards

sorry, but I'm not sure where my name was mentioned.
Not one word about buying or building my models.
I mentioned a number of other designers, but not me.
And yet, you know exactly what I am thinking?

Can you tell what I'm thinking now? What about now? Let me hold up the other hand...

Building only Polish kits over any other, or building only printed kits over digital is snobbish.
LOL You basically said that anything self-printed, internet found or not Polish printed is not worthy of their time...so, snobs.

No, Polish builders don't consider "print out" kits as piracy.
lol Thats a ridiculous statement that insults Poles.
...are you implying that Polish modellers are idiots?
I think they can recognize the difference between a pirated model and legitimate model.

"and are not well seen at shows like that"
sheesh...thats EXACTLY what I said...I'd like to see more internet digital kits! ?
I think you missed the entire point of my post.

Just because I sell models, it has nothing to do with my statement, or my opinion, or how I feel about putty and paint on paper models.
But apparently you can rewrite my comments as you like.
And your comment allowed you to squeeze in your little jab "as simple as they are", didn't it?

"It takes years of skill...."
Really? (I didn't realize, since I'm so new to this hobby")

Did I comment on anyone's lack of skill?
No...in fact I even referenced their skills, and called them "fine modellers"
I spoke only of what I like to see...in this case, less putty and paint.

Stop talking before you hurt yourself. And stop rewriting my comments.

And no, I was not aware this was a plastic model show.
If that is the case, and I judged some painted and puttied plastic models as paper, then I made a mistake.

But I assumed from the post title "Warsaw Poland 2019 contest-paper models",
and the sub-title "Babaryba 2019 - modele kartonowe",
and all the signs in the photos that state "modele kartonowe"
that only paper models had been singled out in this collection of photos.
Wow, castrate me for reading before I looked at the pictures.
