I did learn during the restoration area tour that they still have all of the rotor blades for each helicopter. They had a giant rack of them out back. Plans are that as each Helo comes in for refurbishment, it'll get it's blades back. The Mohave is in right now, and the rotor blades were in the resto area getting repainted along with it.

The background check is a DOD / USAF requirement. Security aboard all installations has tightened up significantly in the past few years.
It's their pool and their rules.
