2020 Air Parade

Well, the first weekend in May is usually a big 3 day festival around here. Of course, this year is different.

The local pilots association got together on rather short notice, and set up a "First Annual Air Parade". So, being a clear, warm evening, we went and found a semi suitable spot to watch.

The "parade" route wound through town, West to East, drifting North to South
so everyone had a great seat.

They were flying IFR (I fly roadways) so it was an easy task to find a viewpoint.

There were about 30 private pilots, with a formation of RV6s running top cover.

Here is what I captured, on a great evening to get out.

Luke Air Force Base is supposed to fly a flight of F-35s, F-16s and KC-135s over Phoenix today. A total of 16 aircraft, and they're gonna fly IFF (I Follow Freeways) to cover the entire city. Hopefully I can capture video.
