Miles is the only one to express a conflict with the meeting at 10am CST this Saturday, 13 June 2020. This would be 9am CDT.

I would prefer that we didn't use daylight savings, but that might be a subject for another discussion.

See ya then,
Wayne

I have to bow out of the zoom meeting this morning. I have to meet a realtor at 10 est. My Son has decided to relocate to Tampa from Seattle due to the unrest. We do not have the room for this so I must help him make provisions for his move. I am so sorry. I really wanted to meet some of you folks.

I hope there will be another opportunity.

Pray for peace and understanding!

Thanks so much for understanding. This world is hard to schedule in these days.

Have a great weekend!

My apologies all - I was looking forward to this and totally missed it - major internet issues...

So it goes - this does not normally happen though so I should be good next time.

The ZOOM meeting started at 9am US Central Time and ended 10:30. Attendees were:
Wayne McCullough (waynemac)
Joe Teakill (willard11)
Ray Smith (Texman)
Aaron Murphy (murphyaa)
David Lukens (Thales)

We started with introductions, since Aaron Murphy was a newcomer to the meetings.

Current projects included Joe's Waco glider and David's NASA space vehicle, and Aaron's F111. The F11 was a topic of considerable discussion since Ray was a crew chief on F111's and had a lot of personal knowledge to share.

We did not get around to making a "how-to" video. Maybe next time.

Ray was tasked with putting together a poll on Paper Modelers to help settle on a day and time for these meetings, and the frequency (weekly, monthly, every other week, etc.)

I am sure I missed something important, so everyone pitch in with additions or corrections.

Wayne

Poll

I have the poll set up. You may want to post an announcement elsewhere as well.

That works for me in Alaska if on a weekend.

I am including the link to the Waco glider we talked about in the Zoom meeting. The discussion surmised the model should be built in layers and use folds like in origami. Looking at the instructions on the Website, that appears to be the case. This is a different way of building models and maybe someone who builds them can join a future Zoom meeting. There are several other plane models listed on the Website using this building method.

Kevin, I had some internet issues during the Zoom meeting. In the middle I lost video but still had audio and they told me my video froze on their screens. There was a low bandwidth message but it cleared up after a while. Maybe too many people were using the internet in my neighborhood.

Like me that time!

What happens is that the bandwidth starts dropping, so Conference apps like Zoom, generally start to first drop the clarity of the video stream and then may stop it altogether - in order to preserve the voice stream.

I don't know if Zoom does this, but presume it is something similar. My bandwidth is low and this often happens - I just live with it!

Not really an issue unless you are trying to demo something.

Bandwidth often slows if you are on WiFi and there heavy usage in the house by other people - then you will get the same effect.
