Evergreen Air Museum 2014-07-30

With the isolating trying to catch up on things. Discovered I'm never edited and uploaded my last trip to Evergreen onto my photo site.

https://www.smugmug.com/app/organize...-Museum-Oregon

For the people that have been around here a long time: it looks like a Corsair.
Then a Sabreliner and one I'm not sure about: Hiller UH-12E. It was a long time ago for the memory and the longer my notes sit, the harder they are to decipher. Wasn't someone working on a model of this- Republic RC-3 Seabee - several years ago? Anyway enjoy and if you see any I got wrong on the captions let me know so I can correct them.

Nice collection. It looks like the aircraft are very well maintained.

Based on the website, the museum has a lot of aircraft, as well a the Howard Hughes Archives and the HK-1 Spruce Goose. https://www.evergreenmuseum.org/

Having part of the original "It looks like a Corsair" discussion, I enjoyed your reference, but oddly, I can't find the Corsair in the list of aircraft at the Museum website. https://www.evergreenmuseum.org/military-aircrafts

Thanks for the images, Wayne.

Don

Hi Don,

The Corsair I believe is gone, don't remember if it was a private lender or if it was sold. That visit was 6 years ago and even then there were a few (such as the Ford Tri Motor) that had been sold.

Over the last 10 years the museum has been through a couple of owners and a lot of financial problems. So several planes were sold to help retire debt. Just as it seemed like things might be getting straightened out, the virus lockdown hit. Hope it manages to survive since the last few years have not been good for museums and this situation may be the nail in the coffin for many.

Nice shiny ( almost blinding ) planes. Beautiful airy and well lit museum.

The Sabreliner looks like a special operation surveying aircraft.
