all the pieces that I have built for the frame are unlaminated, and when the deck parts are attached, the ship does become quite ridgid

Thanks, gentlemen. I'll have to give a kit using this technique a try!

Chris,

Most waterline models, like the GO-38 will have some version of an egg crate design in their hull

The formers do look a little light.

Just a suggestion: once you get the deck on you might want to put some weight on it to prevent warping. The same once the hull is on, just until you are sure that not only all the glue is dry but also the card stock itself. It does not have to be a lot of weight just enough to keep the bottom flat against the table/mat.

Looks good a nice clean start.

well I am running into some no comfort and no joy.

I have lost, or seem to have lost one of the parts bits
they are pieces which cover the sides of the steps from the deck to the wheelhouse.

I have trashed my room searching for it, every other loose part has been accounted for, and I have a request into the design/publishing house to see if I can get that particular part emailed to me

Rick, I think I can help you if you send me your email. Also what are the part numbers?

John
