This post is just to show I haven't given up (yet)! This particular model really is a challenge for me. The parts numbering is very confusing. I finally started cutting (barely). These first few parts are for the posts around the Steam House. The parts are scattered throughout all the pages, so just hunting them down is a big step! :p By my count, there are 186 pieces for the posts! Not including the green rail and wood dowel pieces. I'll be lucky to get these posts together by the deadline!
The good thing is that most of the small parts are for the posts, so if I can get those done, I may stand a chance at the rest of it! The parts are marked by numbers in circles. But there are several different colors for the circles and numbers that duplicate, plus a few letter markings for good measure and I'm just not familiar enough with ABC's more complex designations. I'm sure it all makes sense in the directions (wish I could read Czech!), but I've been getting dizzy trying to sort it all out from the main diagram; At any rate, I've made a start on it. I think I'll try building one post first and if it doesn't work out it's into the trash for this one! If it does work out, maybe I'll try another post, etc., etc.! Chris |

Yikes! That really IS a challenge, Chris. But I have confidence you'll sort it out and produce a fine model.

Resurrecting this one from the grave. After moving this one back and forth on the shelf for the last two or three years, I suddenly remembered what my old dad once told me; "If a thing is truly worth doing, it's worth doing any way you can get it done".
So I finally decided I needed to re-attack this one, regardless of my being incapable of understanding the diagrams. I managed to get the undercarriage pretty much together without too much damage. I did manage to glue one piece on upside down and another on backwards, but they weren't all that difficult to fix. I was left with four parts of the wheel attachment assembly that I still don't know where they went. Hopefully, this minor success will give me the courage to work my way through the rest of this model! I still hope to build all of the models in the ABC Jules Verne special! |

Since to see this unusual model once again underway, Chris.
The chassis looks good. Don |

I remember this contest... it's one of the many I missed the deadline for!
Can't believe it's been years.

A couple days? That really makes it sound intimidating.

Moving forward slowly on this one. These are the railings and posts;
Here's one end of the "house". The windows and doors are inset, which is a nice feature, but lots of extra work! The instructions really are very difficult to fathom and I'm having trouble sorting out a few of the main pieces. So I took a break and did the roof dome, which was very straightforward; I think I'm just going to try and get this together in whatever order I can and hope for the best. Chris |

I remember this model from a long while ago. It was good then. And now.

I have this in parts somewhere in a box, and stopped for the same reason.. Seeing yours starting to come together has rekindled the interest.. Great graphics, and should be a beauty when completed. Very clean work.
