NC&J: Le Zebre (ORLIK)

Hello. My name is Douglas. I am a paper modeller. I have not posted a build thread in over 90 days.

The Le Zebre is started. A car not a ship, boat or aircraft. So outside the comfort zone without being a tank (painful zone, sorry Charlie).

I have completed the frame, parts of the egine and the two upper engine brackets. Every thing has gone together pretty well. The sides of the frame are laminate art media (thanks Dave) much more flexible than the suggested laminated cardstock. I have taken the liberty of making some parts black. As designed the whole under carriage and everything under the hood is the same shade of light grey. I will keep the engine grey the rest will be black. Now here are some pix.

Cheers
~Douglas

Very impressive beginning. Excellent (and appropriately varying) textures on the metal surfaces! Good idea to make some parts black in an otherwise gray mechanism -- I think it will actually look more realistic as well as more attractive.

Looks like a good start. This is one I am definitely looking forward to seeing the progression on. Should be a really cool model when complete.

Thanks for the kind comments. This side view shows that a lot of the under carriage is visible. This will all be flat black in my build.

The logo is pretty distinct.

A little more progress on the frame & undercarriage. Some fit problems, in the length of drive train parts. Nothing that trial and error fitting cannot handle.
