Douglas --

Nice plan. It looks a lot like one of Ed Wiswesser's 1/32" to the foot plans. I collected every one of his U.S. warship plans back in the late 50s and early 60s and still have them around somewhere. The smaller ship plans were at 1/16" to the foot.

There used to be a very nice little exhibit of Dewey's squadron built by Wiswesser on display aboard the USS Olympia back in those days.

Forgive me for jumping in here, but how does one go about taking plans (like the one Douglas linked) and turning them into parts for models? I'm really curious, because there's a ship out there I'd love to build, but have no idea how to go about doing it.
