I'm voting MG34, mostly for the flexibility of future variations. StarWars heavy blasters (no mod, just carry it in your Stormtrooper suit) MG81 (no butt or barrel shroud) and MG81Z (stick a pair of the previous togeher)

That MG 42 would look so good mounted on my porch railing next to the no soliciting sign...and this is north Georgia so you know It would one-up the warnings using shotguns and "this house protected by .357..." signs!

If you get real bored, you can always do the WW2 Russian Mosin-Nagont 7.62x54R. I have a nicely restored one but it is too heavy to mount on my wall safely, and I have kids who have friends over. My kids have shot my guns before and know not to touch with out my permission, but you never know about their friends...
And yes...a nine year old can shoot that monster from a rest...once! They do like my .22 rifle a lot more for some reason.

I voted MG34 simply because I like the detail.

I voted for the MP 44, but the MG42 or MG34 would be great too. I still have my paypal ready for the MP 40.

I side with Phil, for the same reasons. A mounting by the fence gate would be just fine....now how to really waterproof it. Bye the bye....has anyone else noticed what has happened to .22 ammo? A 99 cent box now runs $10, if you can even find it. Welkom to Amerika.

i left it as a multiple choice vote poll

ct ertz- i used to own a heavy barrelled mosin nagant. i may hit you up at some point for some good pictures.

i am actually a little surprised so far by the results. i would have thought the mp44 would draw the most interest.

The XM8 looks like it would be a sturdy model and I like the design.
