Cessna A-37 Dragonfly

I guess I might as well be the first to start a forum in this thread. So here goes. These are the printed sheets for this model. I reduced the 1/29 scale sheets to approximately 1/50 scale. They conveniently fit four to a page which I like anyway. I don't know if it will make this build any easier or any harder. I'll find that out when I get to the engine nacelle. Supposedly that's the hardest part of this model.

Now that the taxes are done here's a quick update on the tweety bird.

I stuffed a fair amount of plasticine clay into the nose to make sure that it will sit on it's legs when completed. I sort of guessed at the fuselage shape because the kit does not have formers and I could not find a three view with cross sections. Looks like the seams will need some work. Or I'll just have to take all of my completed photos at a more favorable angle. That being said, I think it came out okay. I do like straight wing jets with wing tanks! More to come

cross sections

If I can think where to look, I might have some drawings from the Tech Orders that show cross sections of the fuselage.

Thanks for the info! Looks like I got fairly close just by guessing though I should probably make the very last cross-section at the base of the tail a bit thinner and taller.

Good work in the fuse. A-37 is not easy to build, my copy in 1/100 is in queue for months.

One thing I've noticed about my models is that if you line up the seams, the parts assume the correct shape automatically. One of the things I like about Rhino.

Wow papermate, your build is so much nicer than mine and so much further along! You should go ahead to finish it and post more photos of it here.

After all the whole point of this thread is to provide Aaron with photos to use at ecardmodels. I can withdraw my contest entry and do other things with my limited time and energy.

No, Curt, I don't mean to do that. Please continue with your build as I have no intention to enter this one which was started way back before the contest even began. Moreover the left was warped and it' there lying around for rework. The only reason that I posted is to support Aaron's statement and l'm terribly sorry if I caused any embarrassment.
