Well, I really don't think it looks as good as some of the other stuff I've seen here, especially not your own Starfighter, Niki...unless the trick is just to find a more flattering lighting setup
Still, thanks guys. |

Try your best and you'll have no regrets. Just look at Doris' ships, they are so perfect that no one else can match up so far. Does that mean we should refrain from building ships anymore? I think the whole idea of paper modelling is to have fun in the process, never mind too much about the result. It's just a pastime not a business!

Not everyone can be a world class modeler. Finish building this model, take notes, take pictures to remind you what you did right and wrong and then print out a new kit and try it over again.
And maybe again until you get it the way you want.........or maybe finish this one take what you learned building this one and apply it to the next kit. If you hoping to build it perfect every time, keep building and learning and MAYBE, MAYBE some day you'll get good enough to build them all perfect. Or find another hobby and start the whole process all over again. Have fun, Swampofox |

Just remember we are also the most critical of our own work.

As for my F-104 build, it just came together nicely, credit to the design. Niki |

You should go back through my upcoming models thread and check out some of my builds. There's a reason I used a bad camera and poor lighting.
To quote somebody from the Fiddlersgreen forum "your skills definitely lean in the direction of designing". |

Thanks for the input, everyone. Sorry if it's looking like I was trying to start a pity party; I think I'm still more or less happy with how this model is turning out!
The last few days have seen the addition of the tail and landing gear: All that's actually left for the aircraft proper is the nose gear doors and the very tip of the nose, but I intend to mount the external tanks to the wingtip, and I'll leave the nose open until the very end so I know how much ballast I need to add (if any). (At the moment, it's quite obviously tail-heavy.) |
