Looking good. You'll definitely need nose weight. Without the tip tanks, it's really apparent how small the wings are.

Well, I read something today that probably explains why I'm having so much trouble with creased curves on this model.

In downscaling the model from 1:50 to 1:72, I completely didn't think to take the grain of the paper into account. The model was laid out with most of the parts laid out such that they would curve along the long side of the paper - the direction the grain usually runs - but in rotating the pages 90 degrees so they would fit two to a sheet, I oriented the curved parts perpendicular to the grain!

Something I'll have to keep in mind for future builds.

When I downscale, I just keep the orientation as is, the blank space on the pages just becomes scrap stock for gluing or reinforcing. It wastes paper somewhat but eliminates that exact issue you're encountering!

Kevin/Niki,

Thanks for the tip, I was in the process of downsizing the MiG-9. I will take your advice.

Very nice build! Should send the pics over to Chris at Ecardmodels, he can use them on the model's page.
