All in all a valiant effort. The photos of the actual vehicle I've seen aren't overly impressive for fit especially for a RR.

A valiant effort Chris. All things considered it turned out pretty good. Your perseverance in overcoming the fit problems is inspiring.

Great job on the hood ornament!!

Not bad considering the extensive struggles you went through. I'm impressed with the effort!

Great job producing a "silk purse" from a pretty crude model! The halftrack running gear was particularly well done considering what you had to work with. What a shame the model looks so cartoonish considering how handsome the original vehicle is.

When you talk about trying to improve the model after construction, I can't help but think - why don't you just design a new one yourself? At this point you are very familiar with the vehicle, there are at least several photos of the Kegresse drive on the internet, and for the Rolls Royce it should be easy to find as many photos (if not dimensions) as you need.

I can't imagine that the amount of work required to improve the MM model could be much less than designing a far superior one yourself. After all, it's such a great subject.

I think you deserve first place for finishing the model!

Most people would have given up long ago.

I agree that it is a great subject and if it were within my power to design a paper model kit of it, I would certainly consider it. I'm not a designer, unfortunately. I'll leave it to more capable hands to create a new kit.
As for giving up long ago, I think that probably is what I should have done. But I am too darn stubborn and probably too darn stupid.:D
I think I am waking up and realizing that trying to improve it is probably a big waste of time and effort.
Chalk one up for experience!:D
Chris
