Thanks Charlie. Part #50 is supposed to be glued directly to the hull. I left the back of it open so I could insert a CA hardened paper rod. The rod will then be passed through a drilled hole at the attachment point on the hull. CA glue all round should do the trick (if I don't glue it to my fingers or tweezers in the process).

I was thinking of building a tank in the near future and, as a novice tank modeler, opting for a kit that consists of small number of parts but going through your thread I knew I must build well designed one for the first one even though it has a large number of parts since modification is apparently beyond my knowledge and skill.
Reading your report will give me a lot of tips how to build a tank and it will be of great help in the future. |

Thanks Don & Yu.
Yu, I am sure with your building skills you can build anything. I consider myself an absolute novice at this hobby. And I am certainly not experienced at building tanks. The few I have built have been very simple like this one. I have a couple of Modelik, GPM and Halinski tanks kits that I only look at because I am no where near skilled enough to tackle them. Someday though . . . I'll build that Modelik Challenger. The model is rated as a 5 on the 1 - 5 difficulty scale but the English instructions say it is moderately difficult. http://modelik.nazwa1.pl/sstore/0514...ger-p-112.html Last edited by B-Manic; 05-06-2009 at 11:08 PM. The running gear all finished and attached. I guess there are no more excuses, I have to finish the tracks. I'm off to Halifax this week so no modeling for a while. :(

Good to see you've got the 7TP to the "Ah" moment. There's a point in an armour build when the thing will stand on its own wheels - that, to me, is the "Ah" moment. Then the reality of the tracks hits a few seconds later.

Thank-you gentlemen.
Yes Charlie it is an 'ah' moment. Unfortunately the tracks will have to wait till I get back from the east coast. I look forward to getting them on and adding the last few bits. Then a nice picture of the 7TP and the 4TP together in natural light. ~ Cheers Douglas |
