OTDAEABT 2-Maly Modelarz A6M2 Zero 2000/12

I will start the build as soon as I'm done with the Claude but I wanted at least to introduce the model
It looks like I will be at a huge disadvantage here - reasons being:
1. This is the newest kit within the timeframe specified
2. Color registration is near to perfect
3. Fit is excellent (built the kit years ago as a first model when I returned to cardmodeling)
4. It was not designed by Mr. Wasiak

Considering all this I better remove myself from running for any prizes and just stay here for the pure fun :D

This particular model was designed by Pawel Mistewicz and shows A6M2 Zero Model 21 from 261 Kokutai based in 1944 on Saipan.
There are four pages of parts, extensive assembly instructions (in Polish) and 11 diagrams showing all the subasemblies.
Model has detailed cockpit, wheel wells and engine. There are no separate control surfaces or flaps.

I have a whole bunch of Mistewicz kits but never tried one yet. Good to hear they're quality.

Mike -- I'm sorry to hear that you will be operating under such disadvantages. It's a shame that you got saddled with such a high-quality model, but I am sure you can overcome the difficulties.

But seriously folks, I'm always glad to watch you build a Japanese fighter build and based on your initial assessment, this sounds like one I might like to try some day.

Don

Kuba,
Pawel Mistewicz's kits are certainly the ones to enjoy.
Here WSMK: f1aut is the list of all the kits he designed. The top three he published on his own under Kartonowa Kolekcja name.

Don,
I don't know - this kit might prove to much for me :D
You might check out also his other Zero I built. It's basically the same model with added movable control surfaces, flaps and much better color scheme and detailing.

Michael - I'm with Don on this one. I am sure you can overcome the difficulties this kit poses and produce an acceptable model. I look forward to seeing your start.

That's interesting, it turns out I built 6 of his designs. It was before I started checking who made the kit. I also have 3 more in the pile.

His designs are great, if my P-38 Hal is any evidence. However, Mike don't get too confident, my Hellcat has self sealing tanks AND pilot protecting armor, (and the pilot wears a parachute):D

Glen,
Yes, you are correct, but...
I don't think your Hellcat will be able to withstand massed attack of 2 Zeros, Shoki, Claude, Hayabusa, Goishikisen, Nate and Kikka :D
