OTDAEABT Contest - Maly Modelarz 1-2/94 B-25 D Mitchell

I was delaying the construction report for the MM B-25, because, first, I wanted to have this model signed by my friend Connie Harth, a b-25 pilot veteran. But he's been sick lately and unable to grant me that wish.

Now, I looked for the kind of B-25 on Polish references, an found this:

Begin Quote:
The B-25 from Maly is from the 205 Polish Bomber Squadron "Land of Greater Poland" (Polish: 305 Dywizjon Bombowy "Ziemi Wielkopolskiej im. Marszalka Józefa Pilsudskiego") was a Polish World War II bomber unit.

In August 1943, the Squadron was moved to Swanton Morley and thereafter ceased its affiliation with Bomber Command; instead, it was absorbed into the freshly formed Second Tactical Air Force, a specialized arm of the RAF that was centered on tactical air strikes of vital enemy targets (such as bridges, supply trains, etc.) on the Continent.

During this period, 305 Squadron converted briefly to North American Mitchell light bombers before adopting the De Havilland Mosquito FB-VI, the aircraft that the Squadron operated on for the remainder of the European campaign.
End Quote.

Enough of History. Today, I present the kit, and the formers on laminating cardboard (1mm).

Bravo! The build we have all been waiting for! This is a hugely popular aircraft and you are (as we know) a skilled modeler. There has to be a bonus for translating Polish via Spanish to English...let me check the Giant Book (GeeBee) for a ruling on that...

Thanks, Ron. Also, don't forget that translation from diagrams on kit to an actual logical build, doubles (or triples) bonuses.

Off to a good start Amigo! Looks like a winner. Any idea if our "friend" Bogdan Wasniak designed this, or is there a chance it will be a good design!

Ehm...
He did design this one as well...........

Hopefully Milenio can overcome all the shortcomings and be able to built this beautiful plane without any major hickups.

First, the formers for the central fuselage. This part, strange thing, is made of one single piece, which in the middle has the openings for the wings structures. But (yes, this is the first "but), do not glue the wings structures on the round central piece YET. In picture 1, the structures for the central piece. Two for each side, and one central former where the wings structures go. (Happy face is my idea of this to be a fun build).

Picture 2 shows the central piece with the formers. This is not possible to achieve if you glue both wings structures to the central former... at least, one of them should be left aside. So, glue one, put the former inside the piece, and then glue the other wing structure strip. Other than that, no problem. So far, so good.

Great start Gerardo! Now we just need some build pics...

Edit: Oops... pics are already up. May I ask if it's easier for this kit to join the skin into a cylinder before putting in the former, or glueing the skin around it?
