Did you ever think you'd see peer pressure in the paper modelling world? :D

Yes, and I've been debating methods of making them that will allow them to stay together for a longer period of time than just for taking pictures If I could solder worth a damn I'd consider that - but I can't. Maybe it's time to learn :D

Fortunately, the Hampden had no Yagi radars. It does have a few machine gun barrels and what I think was an antenna running below the fuselage attached by clamps. All look relatively easy to reproduce, should I get that far.

As for the Beautiful Beaufort, Dan, you could put an explanatory caption under the model saying that the antennae had been airbrushed out by the wartime censors.

No such excuse available for the dangly bits on your Fokker, Ron.

Well, that wasn't too painful. The axle fairing is just a little constant chord wing and the wheels are an "O"-disk-"O" sandwich. I used a knife to bevel the inner radius of the tires and a fingernail emery board to sand the outer edges which were then blackened with a Sharpie. I located the attachment points on the fuselage based on the cover illustration and the 3-view. The axle fairing actually had faint dots printed on it to locate the attachment points. The struts were wrapped around 0.020" brass wire and the wire trimmed to leave a 1/16" stub to go in the holes I drilled at each attachment point. I used a drop of Aileen's Silver on each wire to tack the LG in place and, once satisfied with alignment, applied a drop of CA to each attachment point All in all it was not as harrowing as I expected. I guess I need to get the guns, windscreen and cowling bits done before attaching the wing.

Well, the first gun went pretty well - no real problems or surprises. The guns are printed in black and white which I did not care for, so I "greyed up" the white to tone it down a little. I stumbled across some .010" brass wire from my model railroading days and used it for the landing gear braces. I will probably use the same for the control cables. I'll need to touch them up with some steel colored paint once I'm done with assembly. I'll get to the other gun tomorrow and do a windscreen out of transparent material.

Looking good. Any idea what the significance of the infinity symbol on the side is?

So how would you compare the fit of this one to the other major manufacturers? From what you've shown, it looks like it's going together well...of course that may just be because of your skill level. But I'm really curious as I've bought a lot of MM kits. I decided I like the frustration! But it does seem as though some of the MM kits are really well designed, some much less so, and a few are genuine nightmares. This looks like a good one, no?
