Thanks Chris! More than one project has been 'lost' in that pile. That's why all further photos will be taken without that backdrop.

And here's a couple of photos of today's progress. Here I'm using the packaging that the model came in to provide a cheap and dirty photo booth.
The Tail feathers went together pretty well though the stabilizer required a bit of trimming to fit to the fuselage with the proper alignment. But who knows that may have been mostly me, or was it the brandy? We do what we have to do to stay warm on these frosty winter days.

That's an exceptionally clean build Cecil. It's a beauty!

Your pen and ink corrections to the off-register roundels turned out very well, indeed.

Neat idea to use the packing cardboard for a photo background. Ron did send along some nice cardboard with the models -- and very neatly packaged, too. I've set the cardboard aside for future use -- a Troll bonus.

Cecil............... fantastic build as always! She is a bueaty.............

But I have to be honest...............and this will get some folk's goat................I am not a Spits man............ always seemed to steal the glory and others (Hurricane) worked much harder...............kinda like the B-17.................great plane.............but the B-24 really was the work horse.

Now that should start a ruckus:D

If you were in Britain between August and September in 1940 you would probably not care if the fighters were Hurricanes or Spitfires so long as they did thier job. Perhaps it seems like the Hurricanes did more because Fighter Command had twice as many of them.

I agree................I don't doubt the work and the need..............it's just that I like the ones that did the work and got not as much hype..............Thunderbolt over Mustang..............Hurricane over Spitfire..............Hellcat over Corsair (sorry Will)............FW-190 over Me-109.............hey ............. maybe it's I like the big ugly ones over the gorgeous one.............me looking like a big ugly bull might have something to do with it:p:D

More pictures Cecil.................

Thanks guys for all the nice comments and encouragement. I meant to post some pics today that I took last night. But when I opened the folder on my flash drive guess what? No photos! Doh! Oh well, I suppose I'll just have to join in the workhorse vs. glamour plane discussion instead. On that note let's not forget the under-rated P-40. It was never quite the best plane just the best one available in quantity when it was needed.

Training and tactics almost always win out unless the technological advantage is really overwhelming. Just think of the hated Brewster Buffalo.... in the hands of the Finns.

I'll take more pics tonight and post them instead of trying to transfer them to my flash drive.
