OTDAEABT Contest MM Mig-29 1:33

Due only to the fortuitous timing of cleaning inspections does my desk look this good. I will wait till tommorrow when they are over to begin cutting the model up.

Hoorah! Another victim <strike that> contestant enters the fray! That is certainly the tidiest work area I have seen so far. Perhaps you will be awarded the "Tidiest Workspace in Town" bonus. Oh Lord, I'm sorry - I shouldn't have done that. I, for one, am very interested in seeing how this one goes together. It is a collection of curves that should be challenging to replicate with 2-D paper.

I think "victim" is appropriate considering what I have seen of the alignment issues being suffered through by the other "victims" and the more complex nature of the dragon I have to slay, or get eaten by.

Well I to have left the reservation and joined the strip club, or am i just afirming my undying commitment because every model I have ever built used joining strips and I didn't see any reason to change for this model.

Bohdan Wasiak sure isn't gaining any fans in this contest is he? I was wondering if I was going to get past the radome it was so bad. I actually haven't been trying very hard to do a good job but I think that some of my mistakes are actually covering up some problems.

Here is what I have done so far,

2 into 1

Do any of you remember that airshow where 2 Mig-29's were doing a demo and they collided and one was cut in half? They actually were able to rebuild 1 airplane from the the wreckage of both airplanes, this model is in commemoration of that acheivement:

I'm reminded of one of the odd details of a well modeled Fw190 (radial at least). The camo on the cowling should never exactly match that on the fuselage. The engine and attached cowlings were painted at different places at different times with different paints.

Maybe this is actually a super accurate detail.
Maybe Segei at the People's Forward Fuselage Factory Number 3 didn't get the revised drawings?

Bohdan Wasiak :D I think he's the only designer I recognize.
I have almost all of his mid-90's MM's... you can tell which they are by ridiculous thick lines on all the parts and vague instructions.
I swear they all become "and next we make the ____ from parts 22,23,24,25,26,27, and 28" with no diagram.

Remember the rules, silliness is rewarded, the crash story is harder to believe. Your theory might actually be possible therefore is inadmisable in this context. Besides Sergei would be proud that his tractor plant comrades could accomplish such a task and he might have been rewarded with a bottle of Vodka for overseeing the project.

Now that is a truly awesome slight misalignment! Perhaps each fuselage segment had its own designer and they were not allowed to communicate?
