If your excellent Raiden is anything to go by, there's little chance of you messing up the Lizzie, Chris. The issue is, how far overboard are you going to go with engines and interiors to show up the rest of us!

Good choice Chris. This is one that I've been wanting to do a repaint and build on. A very interesting plane IMO.
How come no build pictures yet? Carl |

A repaint would go a long way on this one. The printing, as you probably know, is misaligned a bit. I'd love to see the black version!
No build pics for a while, probably. Houseguests in an hour and the wife gets back Sunday. Out of town some of next week. Besides, I'm still trying to sort out the instructions! I must admit I'm a little confused by some of the instructions...mostly the missing ones. Chris |

Question here - the model is marked LXT, while the cover and the history links above refers to ARN.
Just an observation. - L. |

I researched based on the number on the cover. I wasn't aware that the number didn't mention that on the plane in the kit, sorry for any confusion...

Well spotted, Leif, I hadn't even noticed. The kit doesn't have any Polish markings, either.
I haven't been able to find any reference in my feeble internet searches. Just one more thing to figure out on this one! Chris |

Here's a picture of an LX-L plane assigned by the caption to 225 squadron. A bit of info at this site about squadron 225 - http://www.rafweb.org/Sqn221-225.htm .

I found that one as well, Dan. I also found and LX-P of a completely different squadron. I'm completely unfamiliar with markings so I'm not going to worry about it.

Dan -- Good historical research! I love this kind of information.
Chris -- Looking forward to seeing the build develop. Don |

Oh, that LXL looks like an ideal image to have before you when building, Chris! Very nice find, Dan. The flimsiness of the canopy structure will be the main difficulty. Also, note the different colour of the underside of surfaces. The MM kit has sky blue here. (I don't suppose that is worth doing anything about, though...)
Another piece of interesting, though unrelated, information: Did you know that the entire front of the cowling (the rounded part) was the exhaust collector/silencer? That is why the exhaust outlet on the right side of the fuselage has that peculiar shape. It attaches directly to the fron of the cowl. (This is just to keep you interested in this very peculiar, but fascinating, aircraft.) Last edited by Leif Ohlsson; 01-26-2008 at 04:58 AM. Reason: Afterthoughts |
