Just to clarify for those who may be confused...
you can repaint, modify, kitbash, do anything you want to a model for your own use.
You don't have to ask any permission.
And then you can come here and share the build with us.
You just can't reshare or sell the model in any way, any form, any where.

This applies to any model, digital or printed, free or for-sale, up-to-date or out-of-date*.

*yes, there are allowances for publications that are known to be out of copyright.

And if you download a model and your brother sees it on your computer
and says "I want a copy"...you can give him one.
Its okay to share a legitimate downloaded model with your wife (lol), your son,
your brother,
your best buddy in modeling that you see every week.

Although, I'm sure your best buddy would appreciate directions to the site where you got the model
so he can look around too!

Just don't get on the public forum and offer to share with any newly arrived member.

Also as i said, sites like paper replica host the links to the creator's site, so they promote him in a way, do you think thats bad? Of course its bad if i take a model and upload it to my own site for people to download and of course im doing damage to the original maker, i never intended to do that. And i also agree that always we must respect the creators choice, whatever that is. If the model is free, and someone wants it ill send them a link to the site of the original creator i consider that obvious, its easy for anyone and the creator gets what he deserves."

My first post about this (post #30) was directed mainly at toudi sk
and the general community.
You assumed it was directed solely at you.
I was indeeed concerned about a new member making his first post this way, but thats a short topic.

My second post (post #45) was again directed at the model sharing topic
and directed towards the general paper model community.
But again, you took it as directed solely at you.

My last post (post #52) was clearly about the topic and related to Mike1158's comments.
Again, directed at the paper model community here.
But, based on your last post, you seem to think it was directed solely at you again.

You need to realize this isn't the first time I have spoken about copyrights and piracy.
lol ...everyone here is well aware of that.
And my comments are usually directed at the problem and the community as a whole.

Stop assuming I am talking directly to you.
As I said, my initial comments were about toudi sk offering to share the model with you.
