Tyrannosaurus Rex by Alejandr0

Alejandr0 has released his wonderful T Rex:
Tyrannosaurus rex WIP
and I ordered it as soon as I saw it was available. I can now say it is a great design.
It comes in three versions; a black and white line drawing, a colored version with fold lines, and a colored unlined version, which I am building. I printed the B&W version on typing paper to reference the fold lines; if you do origami, you will recognize the mountain and valley fold lines. Having a reference is very helpful, as there are many complex curves.
The instructions are nice 3D renderings that are well labeled. They remind me of the diagrams that come with Halinski models.
So far, I have part of the head done. I will post more as I progress.

This is going to be a very nice piece. Just eye-balling it compared to your hand it looks like about 12+ inches high and 18 inches long when done. I hope you will have a proper home for him when finished. Looks like it is progressing well.

I've made some progress, and discovered a couple of errors a builder should be aware of. I don't know if Alejandr0 is watching here, so I'll post at the design thread. The first picture shows the first page. Parts 6d and 6c need the tabs I've indicated, and 6i and 6j need the tabs indicated by the arrows cut off. The second picture shows page 2. I have not built parts 8 and 9, but I think they need a tab where I have indicated in red. Part 9a needs the original tabs cut off and new tabs where I have indicated. 8a needs the tab arrowed cut off.
The remaining photos are of my progress. It is going to be beautiful and LARGE! Boy, that close-up photography shows every blemish! It looks better in person.

Thanks everyone. I'll have to take some pics under natural light, the little halogen bulb I work under is great for seeing, but makes harsh shadows.
Alejandr0, glad the corrections are helpful, I'll keep posting them.
I'm thinking about how to mount him to a base. My current idea is to install tubes inside the legs running from the ankle to the bottom of the feet, with an opening so a rod set in the base could slide in and hold him. I will also fill the feet with small fishing weights for stand alone stability.

Great Idea about the rods, Probably because of the shape of the lower legs and feet you may be able to leave the bottom of the feet open and just slide it into the rods of the base. The first prototype actually managed to stand up on its own I'm sure with the weight will be more than suitable. Keep up the good work.

More progress, the tongue, underchin, and back of the head and start of the neck. For the next to build, if you are going to build the unlined version, referencing the black and white version is very helpful. It has many complex shapes, and will not go together without proper preshaping.
The tongue is a marvel of sinuous curves and goes together flawlessly.
I found the easiest way to assemble the back of the head was to make the 8, 9, and 10 pieces(minus 10a and 10b) into a single assembly, then attach that to the front pieces. Preshape, preshape, preshape!
The underchin and throat piece went together well, but piece 11e was not labeled in the instructions.
Pieces 10a and 10b were reversed, either in the instructions or the parts page.
Considering that I am essentially beta-building, this is going nicely.
I can't wait for the Triceratops, to make a diorama.

Some more progress. The neck went quickly, as it is simply rings.
Part 12 needs tabs as indicated.
