Thanks also for the nail polish tip. Will try this (though I will have to buy some -wife does not use it). I have been wondering what to use and have not found anything that works - varnish and Johnson's just seems to soak into the paper!

John that is a great build.....and Kevin the picture is magnificent....I am still trying to get up the nerve to start on the kit i got for Christmas....but still working on the woodpecker.
Last fall when I was living on a lake in North Carolina I was fortunate to see Ospreys flying over the creek by my house.....looked just like this bird....

She looks great Kev. I was gonna hang her from the washing line to get an outside shot, but our weather's not been conducive to me going out there, let alone a paper bird.

I'm having a break and making a few simpler birds, before going on to make the full size Osprey. I thought maybe the two Canon Owls and this little beauty ...

Well I thought it was gonna be simple, but my printer decided to give me a purple rendition, which I decided to use for a practise run. It is far from obvious without instructions, but an enjoyable challenge. I had a peek back at the instructions on the website before starting the proper one though.

Still working on that, but time priority is going more towards a serious attempt at recovering the data from my duff archive hard drive. I now have all the components and inside info in place to really have a crack at it.

I'll post a picture of the owls when done, and if the weather improves, maybe some better pics of the Osprey. That has turned out so well that I'm more confident of producing a competent photo build of the full size one, as a few people seem to want this.

As the old adage goes ... Them as can ... do. Them as can't ... teach.
I'm afraid I've never been any good as a teacher, but I'll give it a go.

Am sure you will do fine!

I have decided that I am maybe (dangerous I know) going to run two models at the same time - a bird and a building!

Will start a bird soon for the weekends, and then do a building during the week - easier for me to do when I am travelling as well.

If you want something simple(ish) in the bird line go for a Canon one, but as I'm learning with the owls, even they can get quite complex. Or (as I said back in post #6) give some of Johan's a go. papercraft Johan Scherft The Firecrests are little darlin's and I've just gotta try that wren someday.

The Bee-Eaters also look pretty cute, but they need paying for. Mind you 5 Euros ain't expensive when you consider that you can make hundreds of the little blighters.

I've always wanted to try one of these birds, just bought the Bee Eater. I'll probably try one of these little beauties fairly soon.

I placed a Paypal order with Scherft, Thursday night and have not received a peep from Scherft. I bought the Little Bee Eaters.

Has anyone had any experience with them?
