Received a book from the UK today titled Pivoting Parrots by Anne Wild. It has various bird models that will balance and pivot on a stand. There are also three butterfly models included. The pages are A4 size, double printed on paper that is somewhere between 120gsm and 150gsm.
Some pics: Front Back Inside front Scarlet Macaw front Scarlet Macaw back Looks to be some interesting displays when finished.

Greeting gentlemen!
I had this wren from Johan scherft sitting in my display case for some time now few days ago i found this frame with deep opening, and think the wren will looks good inside it, so i bought it. I'm not quite sure about the species, is it house wren (T. aedon) or eurasian wren (T. troglodytes)? maybe some expert here can help?

Found a bird model book by Anne Wild called Bird Mobiles.
Six models Double sided printing on A4 size paper 0.14mm thick, 31 pages inside. The paper is not shiny. The models look to be kind of angular and chunky, but should be OK. There is also an information dial with some basic information about habitat and nesting for each bird.

Here are some pictures of the barnowl model.
Ten parts to make the model and some guessing as to the actual proper placement. There are letter designators on the reverse side of the parts that are supposed to match the same letter designators on glue tabs and in some cases the obverse side. The letters did not match for me in all cases, but the model assembled easily enough.

Nicely posed Doug. Makes it look fairly realistic. Perhaps inducing a bit of a twist into the wings could improve the pose?
Are they life-size? I'm looking forward to seeing the Pheasant made up. The Book is listed at £40 on Amazon UK. Maybe a little dear if they aren't too accurate. Certainly too much to pay just to get the Pheasant. Keep on snippin' ... Johnny. |

Johnny, the wingspan on the barn owl model is around 44cm which looks to be about 1/2 size. The wingspan for the pheasant looks to be around 42cm which again seems to be about 1/2 size. I have not made the pheasant yet. Here is a picture of part of the pheasant:
The wings look like they meet in the middle of the back part. Here is a listing on abebooks.co.uk for the book: Anne Wild - Bird Mobile - AbeBooks.co.uk It looks to be quite a bit less than amazon.co.uk. I have purchased a few used paper model books from abebooks and have only received one that had stuff cut out. The seller immediatley refunded the purchase price and did not require me to return the book.
