I do make toys now and again. Here is a fold up paper building, 1:48. I designed it based on a wood with lithograph paper German Red Roof Dolllhouse from 1925. I still need to create furniture for it and some of the graphics such as wood flooring. For the this prototype I used brown paper but the finished model with have some timber detailing printed onto the brown paper. I have not decided how I will detail the roof yet. I want to run some experiments embossing the texture of singles int the paper. I can do things like that with my cutting machine. Just one of a number of projects I have simmering on the back burner. The little white buildings inside the big house are two of my micro sized buildings, tiny white card models.

Just for fun here is how the first floor looks when flat, it is one piece with perforated fold lines. The flat image is from my CAD program.

@whulsey, you bet. You know he was tutored by Satriani, can't go wrong there.

@kcorbin, thanx for that. I have always wanted to build a dollhouse but for some unknown reason I thought I was too macho...guess we all know better now! lol

@SCEtoAUX, thanx Doug, poor bunny, I know how he feels.

@Vermin_King, Nice raceway, I do like that. Thanx for posting.

@Phil, you don't ever have to worry about building a dollhouse messing up your macho.

You can let the work of this very manly man who likes beautiful women soothe your worries about gender roles and dollhouses. He just won another award for his outstanding model work.
Dollhouse Miniature Makers—William R. Robertson

Here is one of his miniatures. He made the structure and every item in it. The link above is worth looking at, it is hosted on the website of Miniature Engineering Craftsmanship Museum founded by the maker of Taig tools. Lots of tools and lots of scale models there.

@kcorbin, must order a bib before I look at that page again. Holy smokes! I got as far as the toolbox and nearly broke my jaw gawking. Most excellent find, thank you for sharing that.
