terror bird

well ive been here for 5 years.after creating models built by others,i have created a model by mysel.seeing that there is no realistic model of a terror bird available,i decided to make one myself.this is my first model, therefore it may not be so user friendly or anything.

couldnt find a 3d model{free one}to work on so i created one by refering to photos.i dunno how to add realistic textures, but i think everything else is pretty much okay.its a large model by the way(35 cm high!)

will post pics soon as my internet gets faster

I found this in a freebie pdo file but I can't remember where I found it now. It might have been in the Pepakura Designer gallery.

The file only has the 3D image in it. It has not been unfolded, so it needs someone familiar with using Pep Designer to develop it further. Beyond my current skills I'm afraid.

I think it represents a video game creature of some sort called a Gothic Scavenger, but it's the nearest I've ever seen to a Terror Bird model.

I'd love to see this developed into an available model, so if anyone wants the file sending through, PM me an email address.

Your link led me to some Terror bird pictures, but no paper models ... but it is still loading in more pics.

The Gothic Scavenger .pdo should be in your in-box mate. Have you seen the WoW Moa? See The Birds thread.

Looking forward to it's development.

Some pre-historic boids, for those that might have missed them in THE BIRDS thread ...
The World of Warfare Moa.

I stand corrected ... the Moa is a Guild Wars character not World of Warfare.

Please forgive me ... I don't play video games, I just like some of the characters.

Guild Wars downloads don't seem to be working properly right now though.

thank you john I was going to try to link to that. I would recommend that particular model of the moa, you will get the kind of body pieces you want to give you an idea of the kind of shapes you need. good luck!!! I really like the idea at Tyrannus being a paper model! those birdies were absolutely terrible!!

That's strange. Somehow the link changed. OK, I'll try again:

Spirit Terrorbird by misterxman on DeviantArt

and if that doesn't work here is a blog entry with that link:

Runescape - Spirit Terrorbird Papercraft ~ Paperkraft.net - Free Papercraft, Paper Model, & Papertoy

If THAT also doesn't work just google for runescape spirit terrorbird papercraft. Here is an image:

(Yes, it does deserve a new texture .)

Yep, thank you for that! I have taken a first look at it and found a few intersections, but nothing grave. They should be an easy fix on the final template, but I guess a test build is possible to clean everything up. I'll keep you posted on my progress.

Oh, I know the Moa (I even have it) but lost the download link and did not want to make a post without it. Thank you for adding it to the list!
