First Design Attempt (RV Interior)

Disclaimer: I am not a model designer, but since many things I would like to build are not available, I thought I would try my hand at one.

My first attempt is an RV interior, loosely based on a modern airstream. I used the free Inkscape vector program to draw the pieces and color them. Below is the stove that I recently finished test building for the camper. The stove has about 25 pieces.

Brad,

Nicely done, what scale are you creating the interior in?

Might be good for garage dioramas

Rick: Since I am "eyeballing" everything, there is no proper scale. A few measurements show it to be around 1:30. Being a vector file, I guess I could scale it to anything, though.

Very cool! Are you planning to design a RV around it?

Sure looks like it came out well. Did you have any major issues with the program?

Time will tell as to whether I will try to build the exterior. Right now it is beyond my skill level. I think it would look nice, though.

A quick update on the interior. The sofa is complete. The picture does not reflect some of the changes made, like fixing the gap in the corner of the cushions.

This is the first time I have used Inkscape, and I like it so far. Of course, I am still learning the ropes, but it seems to do everything I need it to. I have used Corel Draw (7) in the past, but produced nothing significant, so in many ways I am cutting my teeth on Inkscape. As someone who finds it impossible to use 3D software, I would highly recommend Inkscape for 2D creations.

A couple new things to add: A refrigerator, cabinets above the stove and sink, an exhaust fan, and a little towel to hang on the stove handle.

Thinking that I might try the exterior, I have curved the wall supports to fit the shape.
