D77-TC Pelican

I couldn't decide whether a pelican counted as 'aircraft' or 'armory', and figured it best to post under 'other.'

I actually started this a few days ago, but the print was sitting around in my room for years. Glad to get around to gluing this thing.
I felt that it was a bit easy to squish, so I've begun to add the occasional foam block to stiffen up the sides; not too sure about that. I guess this will take me several weeks to finish at the rate I'm going.
On the plus side, I'm really getting the hang of this! Now if only I can stop crushing the parts while gluing >.<

Build does not include formal instructions.
Webpage offers five assisting images.

I think that covers everything.

Assembly has gone well enough. I'll have to re-print several parts as the dorsal assembly and aft engine mounts don't seem to fit properly. The tail assembly seems to have been glued at an angle, but I presume that was caused by the foam-board supports. Whoops. The biggest error I made was to try pulling the dorsal cover off, tearing that area quite well.

My son is a Halo fan, and thought about building this. I was thinking of making smaller boxes to build around to give it more strength

I hope you have better luck figuring out what-goes-where. I will likely have to do this again, and hopefully with better results.

I'd planned on doing two, and giving the better-looking one to my son

When I first thought of doing it, I remember that I thought the 'Help' photos weren't overly helpful, but the mini pelican has pretty good instructions and they seem to mesh somewhat with the big model.

If you haven't downloaded the mini pelican, check it out and see if it helps

Does any one still have the Pelican models? The web site is gone so are the models. :(

Thanks for the link.

By the way, I wanted to improve on my first build after I sold it for $75.00+shipping on EBay. It is no where close to the effort involved but
I think there is still demand for a well built piece if anyone needs funds for ink and other supplies.
