Even without the gold arrow inlay the 61 is nice, although your illustrated pen is "gorgeous" to quote Steph from England on his videos...may try my hand at a Pelikan box is pretty easy work.

Ok one last pen box and a couple favorite pens
a Sheaffer touchdown from 49-50 and a plain jane 51 from early 50's both work
well and although the Sheaffer like most Sheaffers has no flex is a smooth writer and looks alot like my first fountain pen
here you go Don a Pelikan box

Great pens, Glen. I remember the Shaeffer ink box, and have a couple of Shaeffer jars around the house (as well as several Parker, Omas, Fahrney, and other ink jars.

I like that Pelikan penbox.

Incidentally, for note taking, journal keeping, and other such uses, I like to use wooden pencils, my current favorites being General's Cedar Pointe 2HB https://pencils.com/product/generals...encil-12-pack/ and Blackwing Palomino eraser-tipped HBs (which have about the same write out as normal 2B pencils) https://pencils.com/product/palomino...-pencils-bulk/. My everyday mechanical pencil is a Draftmatic No DM05 with 2B 0.5mm lead https://www.amazon.com/Alvin-Draft-M.../dp/B007VTP62U.

Don I sent over a box for you to try your hand at and see if it does fit your Pelikan... feel free to post a pic if you build it up...
I have some pencils that came with pens, my coolest is probably the Sheaffer tuckaway set, very small but the pen is nearly regular length with the cap posted, about 1946 as best I can tell, pre '47 anyway as has the old "wire filler" vacuum. I was very happy also that the black parker 21 pencil had a date code so I could date the age of the pen-1954 (both are engraved with the original owner's name).

A couple new pen boxes....
I happened on a picture of an old 1910's Sheaffer box, previously had only seen poor photos of this one, the actual type of pen would have been a black hardened rubber pen, cylindrical was the only shape for those, prior to plastic and more durable for pen use than bakelite, nearly all pens of the age were of this type. Pictured is an Aikin Lambert from about 1918-1920. I don't have a Sheaffer that old, the oldest working pen I have is a Sheaffer Balance from 1929-1930 that is in the box.
The Parker box was used in the 50's in England, the Newhaven Parker plant that put out 51's, "English duofolds" and later the 61. the Silver pen is a 61 from USA manufacture about mid 60's. It is a capillary filler.

Great work on the boxes. Very classy.

After tossing a disposable pen a week or more, a Parker51 desk pen lives on my desk at work.

Very cool. The 51 is a great daily writer, and the desk pen idea is a good one

Finally Built One

I finally managed to put together one of the pen boxes you sent me, Glen.

I printed this one out on the old printer, so there are some faint lines running through the model. Therefore, this is a practice build, but it still looks very nice with my 26-year-old Pelikan that Lil gave me when I graduated from the Army in 1992.

I added some formers to hold the pen in place.

The last image is my latest pen, a Pelikan Classic M200 in smoky quartz with matching Edelstein ink. A birthday gift from Lil.

Many thanks for the pen boxes. I will build more in the future, including one for Don III for the Parker I bought at the Blue Lancer Valley Post Exchange in Korea in 1962 and later passed on to him.

Don
