Weetabix had a coles crane too. and I have a few drawings, if you are interested! Do you intent to share the tanker?

the inclination start too low, it should start about the radiator top. Also it didn't have the flatbed, only the tanker. A few more trucks, a Bedford QL and a control tower, and we get a airfield diorama... :-) Something like this:

A thanks to Mr. Mendes,
It took a while to see that I made a design error in the windows of my Matadors.
The cab in the outlined box is wrong. My photos and drawings
that I rechecked, they look like whats on the right hand drawing.

Anyways here is the revisions as I'm drawing the crane version as seen
in the photo from the last post.

I thought Paper Tiger Armaments has a QLT truck.
And doesn't Airdave and John Dell have airfield equipment/vehicles?
(Oh, that's right they are USAAC pieces) in 1/50th scale too.

Here is a challenge for anyone following...a test build of the interior
of the Coles crane with the revisions from Mr. Mendes.

Here's a look a the colored pages
Page 1 has the truck & my version of the crane.
Page 2 wheels and detail parts.
Page 3 has a revised Weetabix pattern with a closed cab.
Some thread/small cord will be needed to represent
the cable for the lifting hook.

Being home from "work" as is everyone else...has given me
quite a bit of time to work on my paper models, well the
drafting/coloring end. It's now a matter of test building them.
Or letting volunteers step up to try them.

Have fun trying them!
Before the world got locked down, by this virus thingy I had
my blue paper all set to use at my local library office.
It's in a manila folder next to the HP printer just waiting for the place to reopen.
So with all the closures my test building will have to wait.

Got a tower now for the airfield on the outskirts the Kelloggs village.
Did a test of colors this morning using the greens from the old Model Craft stuff.
It's three pages of parts for coloring...it keeps me busy till dinnertime.

I did some research of the types of vehicles used this week.
Paying particular attention to black and white period pictures.

I saw a photo, one of many out there on the Wiki Commons site
of crews using a crane and a Leyland Retriever working on a damaged Spitfire.

I have a humber ready to be put along side of the tower too.

Great idea! Thanks!!!

I also had tought on doing one and had made some research on it ...
Taking advantage of your intend control tower, I would like to make a sugestion, that is to make a model that better reflects a typical WW2 control tower (Watch Office in RAF words).

As yours stands now, it looks more as paper version of the Airfix kit 1/76 plastic model kit, that has been already used as (unfortunately) "source" to a number of printable paper models, and precut cardmodel plastic and resin models. I cant see why a "correct one" didn't appear yet, even on pay models.

While a "rare" subject, some drawings can be found online, and as I think that this is a very long overdue item, "information not shared is information lost". I hope that this can be of some use to anyone interested on this subject.
