Mondorfer Bastelbogen Brotwagon

Don't ya just hate it when you accidently delete the message you just composed?

I thought I would try something different for a change, and what could be more different than a horse and wagon. I obviously repainted this to say "Madam Jendifer's Dry Goods, Hardware, Sundries and Home for Fallen Women". Other than that I built the kit as designed, though the instructions are in German which I don't read there are enough illustrations to carry you through. The kit comes will a simpler version of the wheels and springs, but since I was never the sharpest tool in the shed I built it the harder way.

I cut the tabs off of everything except the basic wagon box and the horse, and used edge gluing instead. I think this was a much easier approach and saved a lot of time. I also rounded the edges of the wheel spokes because I have never seen a wagon with squared spokes. I placed the wagon on the base at an angle because I thought it more interesting than straight like it is in the instructions. I then shamelessly added the whiskey barrel from Air Dave's Beer Truck and the boxes, carpets and jar from Peter Zorn's Lao Che Ford Trimotor.

Great job on that.

And yes I delete messages sometimes; or the one that really gets me - send them off into the ether somewhere.

Mike,

Well Done!

An entertaining and amusing display. Thanks for sharing especially the wheel and brake close-up detail photo. Also for providing your detailed write-up.

Dang! Another added onto my TO DO list.

BP

Great build, lots of creativity used here! Indeed, edge gluing can be much easier and neater than using tabs .

Cheers,
Erik

Mike,
Would you please post a photo of the underside wheels and spring suspension of your build.

Thanks,
