So I have had a think and decided to make the track multi scale! As it is using modular scenery, everything can be changed as and when needed so I will continue with my 1/50th track for my 1950's 1960's stuff that is my main interest (to build a small scale version of what would have been my dream track as a child if I had the money!!) Then when that is done work on scenery for more modern HO cars and for 1/32nd go karts.

I have found on Scalextric Micro track 5mm foam core mount board topped with picture mount board brings the surfaces level. So the borders (inside and outside) for each bend (plus lead in and lead outs) are cut from 5mm foam core. Then whatever detailed scenery is needed is made onto coloured mount board and placed on top.
