Well...

The big 'advance' is in the actual production of a rigid or semi-rigid rotor system. More incremental than revolutionary development. Contra-rotating rotors is just one of the alternatives to using a tail rotor or other kind of anti-torque & control device. AFAIK, there hasn't been a previous contra-rotor system using rigid hub technology - at least not on a proposed production machine.

Agreed. But it's at least something different. The Cheyenne was just ahead of its time.
