The first thing that comes to mind, assuming that a much thinner version is possible, is coloring edges. But this seems very unlikely with the fat ballpoint. Perhaps some version of a dip pen would make more sense for us.

It would be a matter of trying, I see it too thick, but who knows, maybe it's good.

Yeah...I don't think this will work as an edge-colourer,
but its an interesting tool for drawing and painting.

I can envision someone painting...like oil painting...but with wax.

I wonder how well the wax sticks to things though?
If you drip hot candlewax on something, you can pick it off once it cools.
Unlike hot glue.

is there clear wax? So you could create lenses for lights, or even small scale cockpit window, canopies, etc?

I don't know what Crayola is using for their crayons and pencils but I have hard time having that compound to stick to edge if card evenly.I think it's something paraffin based,if you try drawing this line you will see that I mean.Clor comes out of those in chunks of something fatty as water based glue doesn't stick to it at all.I had to give my pencils to niece and get artistic pencils to color edges.

On other hand I use grey pencils most of the time.A lot cheaper and easier to use and effect is even better than colored pencil.

It's simple encaustic painting which has been around since the time of the pharaohs. Wax that dense with pigment melted onto a heated surface - paper, wood, metal and so on. Jasper Johns, Paul Klee, Picasso and David Hockney used it extensively. An artist who works with encaustic is going to have far better tools and materials than crayons melted in a glue gun. BUT, this could be a gateway tool/material for someone exploring possibilities of encaustic.

As a useful tool for paper modeling, probably not.
