Khalkhin Gol Museum

A 1st person view of a Mongolian historical site. Grab the orange man with your browser pointer and deposit him on the Museum. There is a BT7 next to the entrance to the museum building.

Regarding the post above, going upstairs from the main entrance of the museum building is tricky, the easiest way to see the exhibits beyond the entrance hall is to go back to the overhead map view and click on the blue highlighted passageways in the middle or back of the museum.

If you have the time take a virutal drive out into the countryside, much of which has probably not changed since the late 1930's to get an impression of the hugeness and emptiness of Mongolia. In the US, only a few places in Texas have given me the same impression of open space.

Very nice virtual tour inside museum. It reminds me of few other older Russian museums in smaller towns.Come to think of it entire architecture of the building looks very Russian/Soviet.This museum building was built in 1970s I'm guessing.

I'd love to see more better pictures of that BT tank and what looks like a tachanka (or replica of one) right next to it.

I found a DVD of Mongolian film "The Warlord" in Walmart of all places.Action takes place around events of that war. It's recent movie and I haven't seen it yet.

Thanks for link.

It really does. Compare with this Polish example -

What's a "tachanka"? -
