Black Pearl no glue
One of the gifts I received for Christmas was a laser cut kit of the Black Pearl by METAL WORKS. It came in two metal sheets and the parts were easily separated by bending back and forth. It is held together by inserting small metal tabs into the appropriate slots. Interesting build. John

Nice job on the ship. Small metal tabs indeed . My eyes needed a bit to recover after putting together the Golden Gate Bridge.
It surprised me how easy the parts separated from the parts sheet. At first it looked like a mangled mess would be the result, but they separated with ease. I have a small pair of needle nose pliers hiding somewhere. Going to have to hunt them down or get another pair.

Doug, I hope you post a picture of your Black Pearl. My ship was a Christmas gift so I felt compelled to build it. Even though they are excellent kits I doubt I'll build any of the other selections.
I have to agree that the parts were easy to separate from the sheet and needle nose pliers are a must. John

Here is my finished Black Pearl.
The sails went on surprisingly easy. The only real problem was the base of the masts and aligning the four tabs to the four slots. I noticed that the pirate flag seemed to be flying the wrong way, but you have to imagine that the pointy parts that are attached to the foremast are the fly and are actually blowing in the breeze, and the halyard is imaginary. I did not attach the fly at the top to the mast. It seemed a lot of maneuvering would be needed to get that small tab into that small slot and I did not want to detach it from the bottom corner by bending it too many times.

That is damn impressive. Calls back to the tiny scale silverware.

Very neat and clean. If you build more I'd like to see them. You must have found your small needle nose pliers. John

Nope, still haven't found or acquired some small needle noses pliers . I used some flat nosed pliers to pre-bend some of the tabs then used finger nails to complete the bend after inserting into the slot. Only a few jabs under the finger nails.
Still used the larger needle nosed pliers for the most part. They seem to work out OK. I'll post some pictures of the Huey.
