When I was in NCO Leadership School in the Air Force, one of the portions of the course was to "teach" something to the entire class.

I selected something I had been taught by a member of the Spokane Nation...arrowhead chipping.

I brought in a nice "flake" of obsidian and pointed deer antler for each class member and in 30 minutes, every one of them had chipped their own arrowhead.

I got an 80 percent for that presentation because I didn't show the class to how to "chip off a flake" to make the arrowhead. hehehe

Nice work on the flint....or is it another stone?

Thanks, Ashrunner. The dark ones are flint the others are chert, another form of microcrystalline quartz.

Here's the latest. A Danish Dagger for his birthday. (My baby is going to be 34!) Double wrapped rawhide with pine pitch lacquer(sp?) The bead is skunk bone.
