Very nice. Will you need to add weight?

its actually surprisingly well balanced and no counter weight is necessary although it is quite top heavy. A sideways bump will knock it over and if standing on a card table I doubt if you could move the card table and not knock over the lamp.

Not for me, if I was to produce this lamp however it would need a CYA statement: WARNING: not to be used with standard incandescent bulbs. Use only florescent, LED, or other specifically designed low heat generation bulbs in this lamp. Severe risk of fire if these directions are not followed. |

Dear J:
How about angling the side suports narrow at top then wide at bottom? Or glueing it to a square of cardboard? It reminds me of the old 1970's one sheet of plywood furnature patterns. Nice very nice Thanks for sharing, MILES |

The template I started with was from a plywood furniture model. That's not a bad idea to make it wider at the bottom and narrower at the top. I am planning to add "outriggers" for support, or maybe make the base into a box for pencils as a weight.
