Bernoullis, your father was an advanced operator, handling one of those new-fangled thumb and finger keys. I was old school, regular key. Key (sic) to success was a soft wrist and straight elbow. A bit like piano playing, I imagine. - L.

Yes, he did seem to be an extremely fast morse operator, both sending and receiving. When he did his national service with the army they put him in a signals unit because he was right up there with the best of the fulltime army signallers. And at home he just did radio operating as a hobby!

I'll have to find that Vibroplex key - must be hidden in a trunk or box somewhere. Would make a great a paperweight!
