It's good to know that others have enjoyed these behaviors, too. I've not see any Bohemian Waxwings yet this season, but I've heard they sometimes gather with the Cedars, so that's interesting to hear. I'll be on the lookout!

Garden Wildlife

Here are some images from a couple of weeks ago of our redheaded woodpecker and catbird, a brown thrasher, and a white-breasted nuthatch at the feeder, as well as a visiting racoon.

The racoon came back today with her four cubs, shortly followed by a big orange cat that drank from our garden fountain.

And the Japanese beetles have returned here the last two days. Got 4 of them yesterday and 52 today. Fifteen primrose completely stripped and starting on the roses and cannas

Hey Don great birds and mammals, raccoons may be a menace but they are sure cute and intelligent ... That Red- headed woodpecker looks great and the thrasher is one we don't get to see here too

GBH pic not sure what the quality will be form uploading...but nice flying shot, although of course herons are sooo photogenic
