Thanks for the comments .... our summer is winding down fast now so birds are moving around a bit more, new ducks passing through, Ruddy's, Wigeon, a Loon, and I think one brood of Goldeneyes at the lake somewhere this year.
Kevin my camera does surprisingly well on sport mode, although if not as bright out harder for getting clear shot any ideas? Do you have any pictures of your Fish Eagle? The white extends lower on the chest than the Bald, but in size and manner are quite close.

Glen - sports mode works very well.

Your camera is a ? (forgot what it is and don't want to scratch through the the Forum - I remember asking).

--------------------------

I do have some pics of the Fish Eagle - I will try and find some. Most of my Fish Eagle pics are terrible - they are always far away and stay that way!

I have an interesting series of pictures of two fish eagles hunting together as a pair to force down a heron which was then consumed!

I have a Nikon D3500, for the last year and a half since I dropped by canon, ugh, turns out this one is beyond my expectations...
One more pic, very showy one

Terrific eagle photos Glen.
Is it the camera, or the photographer?
Or perhaps a little of both?

This camera would take good pics for anyone Mike, that we have lots of birds to take pictures of helps though.. Kevin I have the 70-300 nikkor lens no image stabilizing but fast enough usually to get clear shots much easier if the day is bright, not so great in the winter. I even use it to identify birds I can't see good enough as can blow up the image with how big file they are, fun!
It is a DSLR which turns out to be much better for me as I need readers to see up close a lcd screen and that was causing some problems with the prior canon I had, but can see the focus a lot better with this one.

I am suffering camera envy. It looks like a terrific camera. I'll start saving up!

Of course, it won't compensate for the dirty window between me and the back garden.

Glen - Here is one taken a couple of weeks ago by my wife that nicely shows the chest area.

Very nice Eagle pic there! Cool to see these birds I only know from reading about them and that is a bit patchy. I took a number of eagle shots the other day only to find the memory card door wasn't closed...ha. Have you ever come across the Pygmy Kingfisher?
