I've been going outside on short walks recently, and I visited some areas where birds absolutely thrive, which is always a beautiful thing to see!!

Here are some photos from today and last Friday. Unfortunately, I couldn't capture photos that are razor sharp, but it was exciting to capture some of these beautiful birds.

Japanese tit: I've always wanted to photograph this beautiful bird that is rarely seen up close. I love the subtle shade of green on its back!

Azure-winged magpie: I saw this wonderful bird for the first time, I had to do some research to identify the species!!

Great spotted woodpecker: I was definitely not expecting to see this marvellously coloured bird here in this densely populated area in Seoul!! Unfortunately, the photo is not clear. But what a sight!!

Eurasian tree sparrow

Those are some nice photos. I too like the subtle coloring that some birds have.

Although the internet provides good resources I always find myself referring to two field guides when trying to identify a bird. One is a Golden Field Guide and the other is a Peterson Field Guide.

Very happy that you all liked the photos!! I'm looking if I can buy a guide that lists all the local birds here so I don't have to rely on the web. I never thought I could be able to get close to seven species of bird in a day! The park is less than half an hour's walk from my house, makes me wonder why I haven't walked there often. I only now realize that there are many more awesome coloured birds that people encounter here in Seoul, like the Oriental redstart, Eurasian wren and many more. I'd love to photograph these rarely seen birds!!

Some birds at a suet feeder

It were a foggy day, aye it were.
Managed to get some shots of birds at a suet feeder. Looks like sparrows.
Foggy and cold day.
